Hello lovely people!
I’m Thomas Waddington – welcome to my author website! A place for young readers, parents, retail/distributors, and schools alike. Have a good look around and see what you think!
Most people just call me Tom these days- I don’t mind which, Tom/Thomas- It’s all the same to me! I live in the town of Bedford, in Bedfordshire, UK. By day, I am a self-employed gardener, and this gives me plenty of time to dream up my story ideas whilst I’m mowing a lawn, pruning a shrub, or some other solo task. I’ve always been a bit of a dreamer, a traveller and lover of nature and the outdoors in general. I currently live with four chickens who insist on digging up my garden and pouncing on every poor worm I dig up with my gardening fork!

How I became an author
My writing journey started comparatively recently when I starting compiling ideas and writing children’s short stories in my spare time. When I was a young child, my father regularly used to improvise silly stories to tell me and my brother. At the time, he never wrote any of them down, but more recently expressed an interest in creating his own story book. I challenged him to bring together some ideas and create a manuscript. I got fed up of waiting, so started writing some of my own children’s stories.

What inspires me- how do I think up a story?
Every now and then, I would have a lightbulb moment where the complete story plot would appear at once in my head. I would have to make a note of it so not to forget a great idea. Other times, these stories would happen as an evolutionary process.
I’ve always had an interest in nature and the outdoors from a young age so my stories are generally based on animals/natural themes. I write from my computer desk at home which is always a bit messy with various drawings and notes as the ideas flow. To date, I have self-published two titles;
